OZTeK 2015 Delivers a Diving Event Like No Other

“OZteK is looked upon as something very special and the place to be and rub shoulders and share adventures with other divers around the world. This is now the best conference for diving on earth and the only one of its kind.”

Last month, OZTek had its 15th year as one of the world’s most influential and inspirational diving events in Sydney, Australia. With a lineup of more than 40 speakers, this 2 day event is has become the platform for new, exciting and innovative diving technologies that help chart diving’s future. The programs and workshops at OZTeK delve into every aspect of diving, from physiology and equipment to wreck, cave and open-ocean explorations and adventures.

Richard_Evans-industry-achievement-award-winnerOZTek 2015 is Australia’s largest dive exhibition along with a set of presentations, seminars and workshops designed to educate and entertain. A series of Tek talks, hosted by Michael Mendun, were given by educators, explores, and innovators of diving. The Tek Talks ranged from underwater environmental activism, cave exploration, dive safety training to ancient secrets of the Mediterranean Sea.

The event concluded with the Gala Awards Dinner at Dockside Cockle Bay, overlooking the beautiful Darling Harbor. The dinner featured more guest speakers and the presentation of the OZTeK Awards to recognize achievements in the Australian Diving Industry. The OZteK Awards recognize a few areas of achievement and are: Industry Recognition Award, Outstanding Achievement Award, Technical Diver of The Year Award, Media Excellence Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.


In addition to the programs and workshops events, there is an underwater photo contest for photographers. The categories are: Macro, Cave, Marine Life with Diver, Wreck and Marine Life. A few of the prizes awarded to the photo contest winners were: Cyber Aqualand NX nitrox dive computer, a trip to the Uepi Island Resort in Solomon Islands and a Zeagle ‘Envoy’ 1st and 2nd stage regulator.

Over 70 diving companies, including eScuba, showcased their newest and most exciting products. Exhibitors have the opportunity to create brand awareness and preview new trends in diving.
