Grove Scuba in Coconut Grove hosts Marine Festival this weekend
(DiverWire) This coming Saturday, October 22, from 9 AM to 7 PM, Coconut Grove will play host to the introduction of a new spearfishing and freediving store at the same time as celebrating the grand re-opening of Grove Scuba. Guests will include local marine business and organizations, and there will be opportunities to win scuba gear and other great prizes in raffles and silent auctions held throughout the day. The grand prize will be raffled off at 7 PM. All proceeds will go towards Miami Children’s Hospital and Miami-Dade Reef Guard.
Grove Scuba is Miami’s only PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center and will be the host of this marine festival, along with Vortex Watersports, the newest and largest full-service spearfishing and freediving shop in South Florida. Invited guests include Mayor Tomas Regalado, Miami-Dade Reef Guard, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, Aquatic Explorers, RJ Ventures, Shake-A-Leg Miami and the Wounded Warrior Project, Immersion Freediving, South Florida Freedivers, Pepin Ferraras, Persistent Teams, Harolf Dean and many others.
“We are very excited to introduce the Miami community to our two shops. Grove Scuba will continue to offer excellent service from our new, larger space, while Vortex will be adding much needed services to our local freedivers and spearfishers,” said Bill Lamp’l, owner.
