Mares has revolutionized regulator construction with the use of High-Tech Carbon Material. The Mares Carbon 42 is the first regulator in which the entire second stage is made of carbon (fiber) material. The main features of this material combines being extremely lightweight (65% lighter than a metal second stage and more than 30% lighter than a technopolymer one) and higher thermal conductivity.
