(DiverWire) Turn your spring-cleaning into an opportunity to help a diving ministry. Reef Ministries, a ministry dedicated to showcasing the underwater world as the handiwork of God, announces its Equipment Donation Program. The ministry accepts all kinds of donated diving equipment, and since Reef Ministries is a 501(c)(3), your donated items are tax deductible as allowed by law.
“Equipment donations help us with our outreach efforts,” states Tec Clark, director of Reef Ministries, “for example, we are offering a snorkeling camp for a group of homeschool families who have only a one-parent-income household and we put on an annual free public service event called Revive Your Dive! that gives free scuba refreshers before lobster season. Donated equipment helps us accomplish these and other outreach opportunities.”
To donate your diving equipment:
- Select the gear you wish to donate – BCD’s, regulators, cylinders, computers, cameras, etc. – as long as it’s in good condition it qualifies!
- Fill out our Equipment Donation Form. This PDF form has interactive form fields that you can type on and then print out.
- Once you have completed the form print it out and mail it with your equipment to:
Reef Ministries, Inc.
3296 N Federal Hwy #39192
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33339
- When your donated equipment is received by Reef Ministries, you will be sent an email from the ministry confirming your donation. This can be used for your tax purposes.
If you have diving equipment just lying around collecting dust, please consider donating it for the outreach efforts of Reef Ministries, and receive a tax deduction at the same time. For more information on the Equipment Donation Program go to http://reefministries.com/give .
